Sky plus Box

The Sky Plus box has really taken the average television experience to the next level with features that could only be dreamt about a few years ago.

One of the most notable Sky plus box developments has been the ability to pause a live programme and then rewind it again to watch the important action all over again. Sky developed this feature for mainstream television before any of its competitors and it is still such an important selling point due to the simple fact that it is so effective.

There is a one touch recording facility which can record up to 185 hours of standard definition programming. This is without the need for any tapes or setting up any timers or anything of that nature. The Remote Record system can also be used which enables you to set up the recording facility from your mobile phone or over the internet. This means that you are able to set up a recording if you are away from home simply by deciding which programmes you would like to watch.

There is also the option to record a whole series from a selection that is offered and then watch any part of that series at your leisure.
The combination of a sky plus box and a high definition television offers a picture quality that gives around five times more definition than you are probably used to, and as the sound quality is also at a much higher level it is often stated that viewing a film on sky plus is a similar experience as going to the cinema.

If you decide to take out a Sky HD pack and join or stay with Sky TV for a year you will be able to take advantage of a free Sky HD box which means that you will be offered 14,000 hours of high definition programmes per month and you will also be able to access up to 50 HD channels which upon investigation, you will find is around 30 more than any other HD provider.

If you need to record even more high definition programmes on your sky plus box then then you will be pleased to know that the Sky plus HD 1TB box has a personal storage capability of one terabyte which in layman's terms, means that it is possible to store up to an impressive 240 hours of high definition television which is four times as much as the latest Sky+ box, and the recently updated memory capacity for Sky Anytime means that it is now possible to watch 100 hours of on demand high definition television programmes.

You will be pleased to know that the Sky Plus box is also equipped to enable it to utilise the VoD and 3D technology which is being introduced in 2010.
