Sky Boxes
A Sky Box is primarily a digital TV receiver which allows the user to enjoy a wide range of Sky programmes. Many features are included in these Sky Boxes which means that it is extremely easy to browse through the many different channels with the option of setting up on screen reminders to alert you to your favourite programmes, along with parental controls so that you can keep an eye on whatever the children are watching.
The sky boxes usually come free with the various Sky bundles and there are different types of Sky boxes that can be used to suit the individuals requirements.
The most basic Sky Box is the Standard Sky Box. This box comes with the standard features and also the on screen programme guide which make the programme selection an extremely straightforward process and you are able to set up reminders up to seven days in advance.
We then come to the Sky Plus digibox Sky Plus Box which allows you to experience a television picture that will simply take your breath away. The picture quality has up to five times more definition with a sound quality which will make it seem that you are actually part of the picture..

Remember, if you do not have a HD receiver such as the Sky+ HD box you will be unable to watch any High Definition programmes on a normal HD equipped television.
The next type of Sky TV Box is the Sky Multiroom. This enables you to view the Sky TV programmes of your choice in more than one room at the same time. You will require a different box for each room and a multiroom sky subscription which cost £10 per month per box for each box which is required along with the Sky subscription of your choice.
There is usually a maximum of eight different boxes that can be used from one Sky installation and there is an installation fee for each box that is required.
The minimum subscription required for Sky Multiroom is 12 months and this length of time for a contract is about average across the industry. If you were to move house during the subscription period it is possible to transfer the Sky Multiroom service to the new property, it is just a case of contacting Sky and they will inform you of the correct procedure.
